The Telefunken Super Ela E1012b is an updated version of the previous model, it now includes a Fuse in the front and a new tuning capacitor. It was used on U-boats for the main Speaker System. It was used to play music or the news.
Mine is sadly missing the labels on the front but except that it is complete. On the top left you can the EM11 magic eye tube and next to it is a lightning protection. The whole Radio case is made out of wood wich is unusual for a Kriegsmarine Radio. It is similar to the civilian Radios Telefunken build.
The Ela has very good reception on all bands. A loot of these Radio stations don´t exist anymore sadly. It is still a beautiful dial tho.
On the backside you can see back Plate with all important information and a tube layout. It also has two extra connectors on the backside for a Amplifier and a Record player. The Voltage could be switched from 110V to 245V
Here the back view with the cover removed. On the right is the AZ12 Rectifier next to it the EL12 Amplifier tube.
Here you can see from the left the EF13 tube and next to it the ECH11 tube. The big IF cans are also visible. The tuning capacitor in the back is of worse quality as in the previous model sadly.
On the right the big Power Transformer can be seen with the different Voltage options. They can only be changed with the back plate removed. Also The AZ12 and EL12 are nicely visible. The switch on the bottom right is for different Speakers. The connector next to it is for speakers. The Ela does not have a speaker build in to it.
When the cover is removed a very nice view is uncovered. A loot of high quality components. Some capacitors are changes others are hollowed out and replaced on the inside.
On the left the three big Electrolyte capacitors can be seen most of them is covered by the case tho.
